WHAT IS BREAST ULTRASOUND?

Breast Ultrasound is a noninvasive exam that uses sound waves to create images of the breasts.

It’s an important tool for the detection and diagnosis of breast diseases, such as breast cancer.

All patients operated at our center must undergo a pre-surgery breast ultrasound and a follow-up ultrasound every year after surgery.

Benefits of Breast Ultrasound:

  • Detection of a breast pathology, such as breast cancer.
  • Checking the integrity of the breast implant, if you have had surgery.
  • Measuring the thickness of the pectoral muscle, which can be important in determining the position of the implant.
  • Measuring the thickness of the skin, which can be important in determining which treatment to choose for skin thickening.
